A Buddha for Rodger and Hammerstein's "The King and I" at Lincoln Center

The King and I on Broadway ran for nearly three years, making it the fourth-longest-running Broadway musical in history at the time, with many tours and revivals.

For the 2015 Broadway feature of this classic, we created this durable Buddha Statue, starting with the initial design and additional research on ancient Buddha statues.

The sculpt began as a 3D computer model, after we 3D-printed a scale model to show the client, and then was milled in foam, fabricated upon a wood base.

It was then scenic painted with a gold finish and some ageing: the final result gleamed in the background of the actors under the stage's lighting🎭 What do you think of the finished product?
